David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer,"

Bowie marked his 69th birthday on Friday with the release of a new album, "Blackstar", with critics giving the thumbs up to the latest work in a long and innovative career.

Dates added for pistol permit processing

GREENPORT—Due to an increase in Columbia County pistol permit sales and information received from NRA safety instructors reporting a large influx of students taking the course in recent months, the Sheriff’s Office will process pistol permits on three Saturdays in January.

Metroland staffers put out a guerrilla final issue online on New Year's Eve, "The Last Stand," and went out on their own terms: a clenched fist of protest, a lump in the throat over fun times gone by and a middle finger raised at The Establishment.

Good Bye Trapper


Actor Wayne Rogers died on Thursday from complications from pneumonia, his rep exclusively tells ET. He was 82 years old.

Rogers, who hailed from Alabama, is best known for playing the role of Captain “Trapper” John McIntyre in the classic television series M*A*S*H from 1972-1975.
