Castleton Reservoir

Irene stopped by Castleton and dumped enough water to flood the pump-house.  DPW workers spent the day closing roads and directing traffic, unplugging storm drops where water was coming up from the manholes. They spent hours clearing downed trees and assessing the damage. The Deputy Mayor and the Town Supervisor put into place a suggested evacuation of Main Street during high tide at about 6:30 p.m.
The boys worked most of the day to be sure that residents are safe and keep the Village roads are passable.

  1. I heard there is a boil water advisory for all those on Village water.

I am impressed with the new Village alert phone calling system - no hoping you will see it on the TV.

We have the best DPW guys around - I am glad they are taking care of things.

  2. All the more reason we need the SCENE. We don't even rate in emergencies.
