I never really believed it to be true
They say “It’s not what you know, it’s WHO you know.”
I recently applied for a position for which, I’ve discovered, I was
the most qualified, only to be passed over for an admittedly less
qualified applicant who just happens to “know a guy,” makes the playing
field seem fraught with all things “dirty.”
A born optimist who believes that hard work, a good attitude, a
personable demeanor, and morals are all a person needs to get ahead, I
now just feel foolish and naive.
