District Asks for Community Help to Prevent Future Vandalism

The district is asking for the community’s help after spray painted graffiti was discovered this past week on CES playground equipment. Thanks to the district’s custodial staff, the graffiti was quickly removed before children could see it. Schodack Police were also consulted and they will be doing more patrols at all school buildings and fields.
“I was shocked and disappointed that someone would do this,” said Superintendent Robert Horan. “Fortunately, this type of thing is quite rare for us. But we wanted to let our community know. It’s a nice place for families to come visit and we want to keep it that way.”
If anyone in our community sees something suspicious at one of the schools, they are asked to please contact the police department or school district. Parents are also asked to remind their children about the importance of having pride in their community as well as the serious consequences for anyone defacing school property.
