Teens destroy historic farmhouse

4 teens arrested for setting fire to historic EG landmark

EAST GREENBUSH -- It was a prank that led to the destruction of a historic East Greenbush farmhouse. East Greenbush Police say four teenagers set fire to the Kospa Family farmhouse at 99 Stuart Avenue last Wednesday.
Flames tore through the building for at least a half hour before fire crews were notified. When six fire departments arrived at the scene the fire was already fully involved. 16-year-old Thomas Snyder of East Greenbush was arrested and charged with Arson, Reckless Endangerment, and Criminal Mischief. Three 15-year-olds have also been charged with Arson. Because they are minors, they will not be identified and their case is being handled in family court.
The farmhouse was built during the Dutch colonial times and had been vacant for years. No one was injured in the fire.
