For Immediate Release

Press Release
To: Mayor Keegan
From: Jon Russell Cring
Subject: Feature film Hobo Heyseus filming in Rensselaer County
Principal photography begins April 26th on Hobo Heyseus, the new feature film by local filmmakers Jon and Tracy Cring, from a story by Troy screenwriter Joshua Owens.
Growing up as the son of a preacher man is the common experience between Jon and Joshua, and it is this unique perspective that informs the humorous and uplifting drama of Hobo Heyseus. The title character is a philosophical drifter stranded in a small town who changes the lives of those he encounters.
“As the sons of preacher men, Josh and I are disillusioned by religious negativity. We wanted to explore how one person using humor and logic could make a change in the hearts of others,” says Director Jon Cring.
The Crings and Joshua Owens previously collaborated on Creeping Crawling, a black comedy- horror anthology that received a theatrical run at the Madison Theater in Albany last year. Creeping Crawling has gone on to win awards at national film festivals and will be featured at Fantacon 2013.
Shooting locations for Hobo Heyseus will highlight the rural beauty of Castelton-on-Hudson, shooting downtown and St. Paul's Methodist Church. Locals are invited to become part of the experience as background Actors in several scenes. The cast includes professional actress Heidi Philipsen from Schenectady, television news anchor and stage actress Benita Zahn, and veteran actor Kenneth McGregor (X-Men, Cocktail, The Hurricane).
