UPDATE: EAST GREENBUSH- A Nassau man has been arrested for participating in an armed robbery over the weekend. Police say 17-year-old Julien Walthour of Malden Ridge Road was charged with multiple counts of robbery in connection with two holdups on Columbia Turnpike. Around 10:30PM on Friday, ten people aged 25 to 28 were walking along Columbia Turnpike near the Funplex when police say Walthour approached them from a parked car. Police said that the he waved a handgun at the group and demanded money Walthour then allegedly began to search clothing and pockets of the people in the group while keeping a gun pointed at them. On Saturday around 10:30PM, two friends were walking along Columbia Turnpike near the Midas Muffler when three people approached them from a parked car, each holding handguns. Police said the suspects ordered the victims to hand over their money, then searched both of them, stealing cash and an electronic device. Walthour was identified as one of them. Walthour was charged with 5 counts of robbery and attempted robbery. He was arraigned in East Greenbush Town court and held on $50,000 bail.
