Woman from Capital Region executed in Texas

A woman who used to live in the Capital Region has been executed for a murder in Texas.
Suzanne Basso, 59, was convicted of torturing and killing a mentally impaired man she promised to marry in 1998.
Prosecutors say she was after the insurance money. The Schenectady gazette reports Basso used to live in Albany and Schenectady.
In court testimony, she acknowledged she lied about once working in the Office of New York's Governor and having a relationship with Governor Nelson Rockefeller.
