The East Greenbush Town Board will have to vote a second time on whether to support a proposed $300 million casino, creating a new wrinkle in the intensely competitive process to win a gaming license in upstate New York.
A new rule released Tuesday by the New York Gaming Facility Location Board means the generic resolution the East Greenbush Town Board approved unanimously -- and quietly -- in April doesn't meet the requirements to demonstrate local support for a casino.
The state board says local resolutions must identify a specific gaming facility within the municipality.
