Zombie's not welcome in Canada

John Baird On Zombies: Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Says Country Will Never Be 'Safe Haven'

"Under the leadership of this prime minister," he continues, "Canada will never become a safe haven for zombies, ever."
While the comments may seem out of the blue, Canada's National Post notes that the exchange stems from Quebec's plans to stage a hypothetical zombie attack for a security symposium next week. However, the zombie apocalypse has since been scraped in favor of a simulated flood following a barrage of press surrounding the scenario, the Montreal Gazette reports.

Happy Birthday Charles Darwin

Evolution

Today marks Charles Darwin’s 204th birthday. As a naturalist, Charles Darwin had a biology-based curiosity about the world. In his early twenties he embarked on a voyage on the SS Beagle to observe and document the species that he encountered around the world. Throughout this journey he employed his critical thinking skills to help him formulate the Theory of Evolution. His definition of evolution was "descent with modification." However, as science progressed and we discovered DNA, the definition was updated and today it is officially defined as: a change in allele frequencies in a population over time. It's important to note that further advances in science have found data supporting evolution, and so evolution has fulfilled a part of the requirement of a theory, to "stand the test of time." Darwin published his book “On the Origin of Species” in 1859, which has been the flagship of the theory.

Pope Benedict

For only the 2nd time EVER-the Pope hangs up his hat!

ROME (Reuters) - Pope Benedict surprised the world on Monday by saying he no longer had the mental and physical strength to cope with the demands of his ministry, becoming the first pontiff to step down since the Middle Ages and leaving his aides "incredulous".
The 85-year-old German-born Pope, hailed as a hero by conservative Catholics and viewed with suspicion by liberals, said he had noticed that his strength had deteriorated over recent months.
