Casteton Public Library

Added Convenience

The new outdoor book return at the Castleton Public Library was installed this past Monday  by the Village DPW. The book drop box seems to be catching on! This allows patrons to return books 24/7 rather than only  during the Village Hall or Library business hours.
"We hope you enjoy the added convenience," says Library Directory, Amy Peker.

"The book return was paid for with money that was in the budget. The feedback so far is very good says Peker.   "Since I began working here in January, the need for an outdoor book return was voiced by many residents. In a recent survey, patrons specifically requested an outdoor book return. This certainly wasn't my idea but something I felt confident would benefit the library based on feedback from the community."

Items from any public library in the Upper Hudson Library System can be returned at the Castleton Public Library, the outdoor book return allows patrons who aren't able to get to the library during regular hours to return items at their convenience.
