EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. – Police have arrested a man after he allegedly attempted to steal from a local Walmart.
The East Greenbush Police Department arrested Everett B. Edmonds, 56, of Albany, on Friday after an incident that occurred at a Wal-Mart store located at 279 Troy Rd. in East Greenbush.
Members of the East Greenbush Police responded to the store after receiving a report that the suspect fled the area when approached by a store employee requesting to see a receipt for two 47" flat screen televisions valued at $1,236 that he had in a shopping cart.
A description of the suspect and the vehicle he left in were broadcasted to other area police agencies and he was located by the North Greenbush Police at the Cumberland Farms in North Greenbush.
Edmonds has been charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th-Degree.
He was arraigned in East Greenbush Town Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail with no bail.
