Thruway passes 2015 budget

Updated: Friday, December 19 2014, 08:11 PM EST ALBANY -- The New York State Thruway Authority Board unanimously passed its 2015 budget with a $36 million deficit. The board did not discuss potentially increasing tolls.

Thruway Authority Approves 2015 Budget, Decision to Raise Tolls Delayed

"There is a huge gap for next year in their revenues - how are they going to fill it?" asked Nadine Lemmon, a legislative advocate of the Tri-State Transportation Campaign. 
"The best advice I can give is, let the public see the full financial plan. Let the public see what the assumptions are going to be for revenue, for tolls, all that good stuff," Lemmon said. 
There will be no toll hike in 2015 on the Thruway or Tappan Zee Bridge, but the budget does show that in order to hit "toll targets," tolls could increase at the New New York Bridge in the next four years by up to 44 percent.
