Students and staff at Columbia-Greene and Rensselaer Educational Centers will host local veterans for their annual Veterans Day luncheons on November 7. Culinary Arts and Introduction to Food Services students prepare a full meal with all the fixings, turkey, ham, potatoes, vegetables, sides and more, along with a full complement of desserts as a way to give back and thank veterans in our area for their service to our country.

Memorial Day. Castleton remembers our Veterans
The Castleton-Schodack Club will be having a pancake breakfast before the Memorial Day Parade in Castleton on Monday, May 25. The proceeds raise monies for its community service programs. The breakfast will be served from 7:00 to 10:00 AM at the Castleton Volunteer Ambulance building in Castleton.

DUANESBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10) – After the American flag was seen tossed in a bin on the floor of a local elementary school, some area veterans were outraged.
Veterans gathered at the Duanesburg Board of Education meeting on Tuesday to ask district leaders to take action after a picture shared online showed an American flag carelessly tossed in a bin.
