As part of the “Hometown Heroes” series, we’ve partnered with County Waste and Latham Ford to celebrate local unsung heroes for their good deeds and honorable work.
We asked Louann a few questions about her work. Here’s what she had to say:

Food Drive Benefits the Anchor

The Schodack Democrats’ Annual Picnic was held at the Schodack Town Park off Route 150, Schodack on Saturday, Sept. 15 from noon to 5:00 p.m.

The annual picnic is always a great time to socialize with friends and neighbors and it is a wonderful opportunity to meet the Democratic Candidates. As always, lots of food, music, a silent auction and more!

The Schodack Democrats’ Annual Picnic is free and all are welcome. The group was also accepting donations of non-perishable food items that will be donated to The Anchor’s Food Pantry in Castleton.

Take a look at some photos of the event. Click here!

Schodack Democrats Hold Summer Food Drive July 28

Schodack Democrats are holding their summer food drive on Saturday, July 28 to help fill the shelves of The Anchor Food Pantry in the Village of Castleton. Summer is a particularly hard time for families. Children are out of school and have no access to school breakfast and lunch programs which so many families depend on, so please give generously.

Our Summer 2012 Food Drive will take place in the areas of
Sunset Hills, Doelner, Byers and Golf Estates, Brookview, Schuurman, Sunset, Western and Stony Point roads. Residents who live in these areas received a flyer on Saturday, July 21. Food donations should be put in a bag or box with the flyer attached and placed where it is visible from the road. Pick up is on Saturday, July 28 starting at 10 a.m. Donations can also be dropped off that morning at the Peter Andrews VFW Hall on Scott Ave., Castleton.

Please remember we can not accept food with an expired use-by date.

Thank you for helping your neighbors in need!
