Empire Blue Cross Employees partner with STRIDE Adaptive Sports for “Camp Clean-Up Day” in Chatham

STRIDE Adaptive Sports operates an 85 acre camp called SCORE 
(Rensselaer, NY)

(Stride Center for Outdoor Recreation & Education) formerly Girl Scout Camp Sha-Te-Muc located in Chatham, NY.

The camp, which had been vacant for many years, is host to many outdoor education programs for local Wounded Warriors and special needs children, to fully utilize the camping skills. STRIDE operates dozens of themed outdoor education programs and tent-camping during the summer, and pairs volunteers with STRIDE athletes with disabilities for a mentoring and rehabilitative experiences. The facility is also a retreat site used by Warriors and their families in addition to serving the hundreds of kids who participate in programs STRIDE offers tent-camping, hiking, archery, kayaking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and a lodge which offers a large space for trainings, seminars and retreats.

Budget Vote!

Community Vote on Budget – Tuesday, May 17 from 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.The community vote on the 2016-17 school budget will be held Tuesday, May 17 from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the High School gym. The budget requires no cuts to programs or staffing. It reduces the tax levy by an estimated 0.3%, which is within New York's Property Tax Cap. A budget newsletter is available here. If you have a question about the budget, please email Superintendent Bob Horan or call him at 732-2297 option 1.

Car drives into East Greenbush home

Tuesday on Lincoln Avenue. A car going out of control clipped a swimming pool, went through three yards and fences, and drove into a house.
Neighbors said a turn near the accident is a constant problem. Scott Houseworth lives next door to the home that was struck.

Stay...Good Dog


The 28-foot high statue of the dog has been on top of the building for almost 60 years and is visible from 5 miles away. Arnoff Moving & Storage has occupied the building in 1997, after RCA left town.
