NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Schodack, Rensselaer County, State of New York, at the Schodack Town Hall, 265 Schuurman Rd., Castleton, NY 12033, on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 7:15 p.m. to seek input on proposed Local Law #2 of 2011 (P2-2011), to amend the Zoning Schedule of Use Regulations parts 1 through 6 of the Town of Schodack.

South Mall Expressway to reopen Friday
The expressway was closed to traffic on July 13 after a bridge inspection revealed a 10-foot-long crack in the concrete pier cap beam of two piers carrying the bridge over Broadway.

Library News

New Borrowing Policies

The Castleton Public Library is adjusting its borrowing policies to be more consistent with libraries in the Upper Hudson Library System. The new policies are as follows:
  • Beginning August 1: All NEW adult fiction and nonfiction books will be loaned for a period of 14-days. This will only apply to NEW books checked out on or after August 1st.
The following policies are already in place:
  • All magazines will be loaned for a period of 14-days.
  • There is no longer a 3 DVD limit when borrowing DVDs.
