ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Gas prices in the Albany area have dropped 12.3 cents per gallon in the last week, according to GasBuddy. This comes after a surge in gas prices over the last few weeks to over $4 a gallon.

A ceremony to honor Edmonia Lewis and the USPS stamp that was released recently will be held on February 9th at the Red Barn, 100 Town Park Road, East Greenbush (snow date February 23rd) at 1:00pm. The public is invited. Masks required regardless of vaccination status.
On Jan. 26, the United States Postal Service honored Lewis, “the first African American and Native American sculptor to earn international recognition” in a special ceremony at the DC gallery with her own postage stamp.

Today the Schodack Central School District begins the process of bidding a fond farewell to its longtime staff member, Michael Bennett. Mr. Bennett was offered and has accepted the job of Superintendent of Schools for the Greenville Central School District. He will be officially appointed at the Greenville CSD Board of Education Meeting on January 3, 2022.

Obituary of Kent W. Sheldon
SCHODACK LANDING - Kent W. Sheldon, 84, of Schodack Landing, passed away suddenly Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Kent was born in Hudson, NY. son of the late Roland and Ruth Sheldon.
He graduated in 1955 from Columbia High School in East Greenbush.
Kent proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960.
