Haunted Hayride!

Schodack Island State Park will be hosting Haunted Hayrides on Friday, October 16 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The 5 p.m. hayride will be considered “not too scary” for younger children. After dark, the hayrides will be appropriate for teens and adults.
Castleton Stomper will be playing live music and food will be available from the Schodack Landing Fire Company.

10 Killed in Shooting at Oregon's Umpqua Community College

That sounds cold, heartless. But can you name the shooter in any of the more-recent tragedies? Or even where they took place? We aren’t numb to it, exactly. We’re numb to tragedies in the Middle East or Africa. 
In the United States, at least, we still bother to become outraged enough to tweet a thought or two before going back to whatever else is trending.
That’s become literally true; according to the Washington Post, the tragedy today in Roseburg, Ore., brings the total of mass shootings, in which four or more people are killed or injured, to 294.

Thursday was the 274th day of the year.

Tonight’s the night to try to see blood supermoon


Tonight, if the skies are clear where you are, you’ll be able to see a total lunar eclipse that is also a supermoon – a rare combination.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, clear skies are expected Sunday night with temperatures in the 70s to 60s and light winds.

Planning Board Approval has residents seeing Red!

Project Red revealed 

Project Red," the mysterious and controversial enterprise planned for land on routes 9 and 20, is a secret no more. 

McLane Foodservices officials met with the town Planning Board on Monday to publicly reveal plans for a grocery distribution center near the intersection with Route 150.
