CPL's Board of Trustees is currently seeking trustees to fill two vacancies on the Board. The Board is responsible for guiding funds, policies, and strategic planning for the library. The Board meets monthly; the total time commitment for Trustees is approximately two to three hours per month.

Friends of CPL

The Friends' annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser is coming up! Save the date for Saturday, April 9 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at Applebee's Restaurant, 594 N. Troy Road, Rensselaer, NY 12144. Enjoy a breakfast of 3 pancakes, 2 slices of bacon, and unlimited beverages for only $6.00 per person. You can buy tickets at the library starting March 1.

Castleton Public Library's Halloween Costume Swap

Need a Halloween costume or have one to donate? We’re offering a costume swap! Bring in your clean, gently used Halloween costumes, masks, wigs, or accessories for children, teens, adults, or pets any time through October 3. Browse the swap selection and pick out costumes to take home. Save your money by swapping instead of buying! We'll also enjoy some Halloween music and treats to gear up for the holiday.

I'm very excited to come on board as Director of Castleton Public Library. 

During my first few weeks, I have been warmly welcomed by a number of our patrons and members of the community, as well as by our staff, trustees, volunteers, and our Friends group.

Castleton Public Library Celebrates Renovation with Open House

Castleton-on-Hudson, NY – The Castleton Public Library will officially celebrate its recent renovation on April 25, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A ribbon cutting will be held at the Library at 12:00 p.m. with community leaders and library staff. Family entertainment, music, and refreshments will be featured, and "Then & Now" library renovation photographs will be on view.

Authors' Presentation at the Castleton Public Library

Join us for an informative and entertaining presentation by Bill and Mary Lewis about U.S. 20, the longest federal highway, traveling 3,365 miles from Boston to Newport, Oregon.  They wrote a three volume series, Through the Heartland on U.S. 20, in which 
 they trace the road's development through the area and the community's development through landmark events and unique stories

Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser to benefit the Friends of the Castleton Public Library

Please join the Friends of the Castleton Public Library on Monday, May 5th from 5-8pm at Scarnato’s Restaurant in Castleton, NY for a Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser!
