-- The first of three public hearings on the Thruway Authority's plan
to raise truck tolls by 45 percent will be held in Buffalo.

Lucas in 1948 - but she brought a fresh, breezy approach to daunting
material, expressed in her up-the-scales signature signoff, "Bon
appétit!"
