All due dates will be extended through the duration of the closure. We ask that you please keep any currently checked-out items at home until we reopen. Our book drop will remain closed until the library reopens.

Here's what's new at CPL!

Starting this month, we now loan a number of specialty items:

Fishing poles
Holiday and specialty cake and cookie pans
Home energy loss detector
Metal detectors for youth and adults

Borrowing any of these items is easy -- all you need is your library card. Just stop by our front desk and we'll be happy to assist you!

We're also proud to offer a new monthly program beginning in May! Our knitting group will meet the third Wednesday of each month from 6-8 p.m. Beginners and experienced knitters are welcome! A complete list of our May programs can be found below.

Story Hour with Miss Linda - Join Miss Linda for a story and a craft! For ages birth through 6. Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. on 9/1, 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29. 

Block Party - Bring in your baby, toddler, or preschooler in for group play with wooden blocks. Fridays from 10:00-11:00 am on 9/2, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30.

Castleton  Library OPEN HOUSE  ~ Renovation Open House on Saturday, April 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

I'm very excited to come on board as Director of Castleton Public Library. 

During my first few weeks, I have been warmly welcomed by a number of our patrons and members of the community, as well as by our staff, trustees, volunteers, and our Friends group.

Castleton Public Library Celebrates Renovation with Open House

Castleton-on-Hudson, NY – The Castleton Public Library will officially celebrate its recent renovation on April 25, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A ribbon cutting will be held at the Library at 12:00 p.m. with community leaders and library staff. Family entertainment, music, and refreshments will be featured, and "Then & Now" library renovation photographs will be on view.

Library Makeover

The Castleton Public Library will start work on an interior renovation beginning Saturday, September 13, 2014. The makeover will take 4-6 weeks to complete, bringing the public an exciting new space to access the library’s collection of books, DVDs, periodicals and E-Books, as well as computer resources and programming for all ages.
